Spring Creek Lodge Academy
is a year round boarding school designed to provide a highly structured
and scheduled environment for adolescents who have chosen to stray from
acceptable family standards into one of drugs, alcohol, negative peer
interaction and low self-esteem. Our primary concern is to help
families and their child/children become a functioning family again.
Our secondary concern is academics. The two are interconnected; yet
separate, since the academic progress is the end result of the student
consistently working the program. Through structure and the day-to-day
interaction with staff and students (in a family setting), the students
learn "new habits" to assist them in coexisting with others here and
also at home.
Seminars
One
crucial ingredient of the Self-Help Program is the Premier seminars and
workshops specifically designed to teach character building. They
educate the student in dealing with non-working issues and help the
student to refocus on key character-building qualities such as
responsibility, accountability, honesty, proper choices, integrity,
trust, self-esteem, and family goals.
Parent Participation
Parents are an integral part of the growth and success of their child through
the following involvement:
-
Weekly Phone Calls
- Parents are kept up to date on their teen's progress academically,
behaviorally, medically, and emotionally by their personal Family
Representative. This is also the time for parents to ask questions,
dispel concerns, and receive coaching on communication with their child
through letters and later, through phone calls.
-
Parent Seminars
- While the student is completing his or her series of seminars, the
parents are invited to attend Parent Seminars held in many locations
throughout the United States. The culmination of the Premier Seminars
is when parents and students are invited to attend three effective
Parent/Child Workshops. These are designed to assist each family in
improving communications, addressing issues, creating a family purpose,
developing goals, and strengthening relationships.
-
Monthly Support Groups
- Many cities have parent/child support groups where parents may meet,
encourage each other, share information, or simply talk to others that
share their same concerns. Expect to interact with parents that have
had children complete the program as well as those that are just
beginning.
